Questions
Do I need to know CAD?
No. You say what you need, in your own words, and tap the model to change it. The CAD happens underneath: every object is real parametric geometry with sizes you can move.
Will it fit?
You give the measurements, then print, check the fit and tweak. Be ready for the first print to need a small change, say 0.3 mm on a clip; tap the part and say so, or move its slider.
Which printers does it work with?
Any printer whose slicer opens a 3MF: download it from the print view. On a Bambu printer, open the object in Bambu Studio from a computer in one click (from the phone, share the link and open it on the computer). Sending straight to Klipper or OctoPrint isn't there yet.
Can I print food-safe things, like cookie cutters?
A cookie cutter touches dough briefly, which most people are fine with in PLA or PETG, but printed plastic has layer lines that hold bacteria and no common filament is certified food-safe as printed. Use it for cutting, wash it by hand, don't use it for storing or cooking food. Your filament's maker has the final word.
Is it a library of models?
No. Every object is made for you, to your measurements. You can copy someone's public object and change it, but nothing here is a download that almost fits.
Can it make figurines?
Yes: animals, figures and carvings come from a 3D generator, from your words or a photo of the real thing, and join the rest of the object as one print. You can resize, turn and move them; to change their shape, it makes them again. Figures of real people from photos aren't made on free accounts.
What can't it make?
Parts that carry heavy loads or sit near heat: a printed part is not a tested part. Detail finer than your nozzle (whiskers on a small cat) won't print.
What does it cost?
Ten free credits when you sign up; then packs of credits or a monthly plan in the iPhone app. A change usually costs under a credit, a new object a few. Sliders, sharing and copying are free. Free credits and free limits can change.
Why can't I buy credits on the website?
Credits are sold in the iPhone app through the App Store, and spent there: at launch you make and change things in the app. This site shows, saves and prints them, which costs nothing.
Who can see my objects?
On a free account the objects you release are public: an object is released when you first take it out (download its 3MF, AirDrop it, open it in Bambu Studio, share its link), and then anyone with the link can see that version and copy it, and it shows on your profile. Changes you make afterwards stay yours until you take it out again. Your chat, notes and photos are never public. With the monthly plan new objects are private, and you publish the ones you want with one tap.
Can I use my own AI agent?
Yes. Connect Claude Code (or another agent that speaks MCP) to SayThing and it answers your notes instead of SayThing's AI, at no charge in credits except for generating a figure. See saything.dev.
How do I delete my account?
In the app (Account → Delete my account) or on this site (Account). Your objects, chats and photos are deleted; see the privacy page for what we keep and why.
Something went wrong. Who do I tell?
Write to support@saything.app, or use Report on a public object. See Support.
